Securing Stable Basis for
Growth through Vertical Systematization
HD Hyundai Oilbank has completed vertical systematization of Petrochemistry Aromatic Business with the launch of MX (Mixed Xylene) Plant of HD Hyundai Chemical in 2016.
HD Hyundai Chemical produces MX using imported Condensate and Naphtha produced at oil refining unit of HD Hyundai Oilbank. HD Hyundai Cosmo produces BTX products using MX as a material.
We also built vertical systematization that manufactures both lube base oil and lubricating oil in 2015.
HD Hyundai Shell Base Oil produces lube base oil from residuum generated in HD Hyundai Oilbank’s crude oil refining process.
This base oil is then used to make the finished lubricant product, “Xteer Alpha.”
In 2016, HD Hyundai OCI was established, becoming the first domestic refinery to enter the steel chemical business. HD Hyundai OCI produces high-quality carbon black used in materials like tires, using slurry oil and coal tar sourced from HD Hyundai Oilbank’s upgrading process.
Vertical Systematization has brought stable supply of raw materials and secured product sales channel, which will be the foundation that HD Hyundai Oilbank can stably grow.
