Our safety management vision is “Realization of Safety Well-being Company”. We are engaged in safety management to achieve “zero safety accidents in contractors and subcontractors” by deciding on 4 major promotion tasks e.g., self-control safety culture settlement, strengthening of safety support for cooperative companies, safety organization capacity strengthening, and process safety management (hereinafter referred to as ‘PSM’) internalization, etc.

We constantly strive to protect our customers and communities, including all employees and partners, from disasters, and ensure that all management activities minimize their impact on the environment.

Safety Health Management Result

1999 - Obtained the Safety Health Management System Authentication for the first time in the chemistry business (KOSHA-18001/OHSAS 18001) / 2006 - Built the Enterprise Safety Health Environment(SHE) Computing System / 2013 - Obtained the highest grade(‘P’ grade) in PSM / 2014 - Expansion of Health and Safety Organization (Team→Department, Manpower Expansion), Proclamation of Hyundai Oilbank’s Safety Promise, Won the Korea Safety Grand Prize-Presidential Award (’14.11.5) / 2015 - Obtained the highest grade (‘P’ grade) in PSM, Achieved Zero Hazard 10 million Manhours for the first time in the oil company(’17.9.1) / 2017 - Won the Green Management Grand Prize-Presidential Award for the first time in the oil company (’15.6.29), Won the Electrical Safety Grand Prize-Presidential Award for the first time in oil/petro-chemical company(’15.11.6) / 2019 - Formed the Safety Working Group of Hyundai Oilbank Group(4 affiliates participated) / 2020 - Obtained the highest grade(‘P’ grade)in PSM, Authentication of conversion to Safety Health Management System ISO 45001, Achieved the Zero Hazard 20 million Manhours for the first time in the oil company (’20.12.5) / 2021 - Expansion of the Health and Safety Organization (Department→Office, Human Resource Staffing)

Major Safety Management Activity

PSM Activity

We are currently operating PSM for the sake of grave industrial accidents due to fire, explosion, and leakage of harmful substances, and making full preparations for preventing process accidents through the systematic diagnosis of & active investment in the related equipment. In addition, for PSM culture settlement, we are establishing the system for 12 major components of PSM, and maintaining the highest level of PSM through the annually-implemented self-inspection.

Safety Culture Settlement

Hyundai Oilbank has established “Safety Golden Rule” for settlement of advanced safety culture through all employees’ safety consciousness advancement, internalization of safety behaviors, and systematization of safety management system, as and we are making various efforts such as operation of various rewards for employees including zero hazard campaign, the safety proposal system, Near-miss discovery activity for in-site risk factor elimination, events in honor of the month of industrial safety health, and safety health campaigns, etc.

Safety Support Strengthening for Contractors

We are managed to settle the in-company safety culture for all interested parties to work in a safe and pleasant environment. The chief safety officer (CSO) of Hyundai Oilbank has built the active communication system with Contractors in an effort to listen attentively to all members, and the officer is raising Contractors’ safety management ability by intensifying a joint safety inspection, and safety health education. Further, chief safety officer is preparing a foothold for a safer future by giving active support to authentication and implementation of the safety health management system with the aim for shared growth with Contractors.

Emergency Response Capacity Strengthening

Hyundai Oilbank is implementing training for the disaster prevention headquarters and fire-fighting task force based on imaginary fire scenarios to intensify their emergency response ability. Also, we are implementing basic fire-fighting training and fire-fighting contests targeting all employees in the fire-fighting training field located in the workplace for the sake of improvement in enterprise emergency response ability. In addition, we are equipped with the optimal crisis management response system like optimal maintenance of the fire-fighting equipment on a permanent basis by implementing self-inspection/improvement of fire-fighting equipment, and hazard points discovery activity for the purpose of intensifying in-site response ability.

Employees’ Health Management

Hyundai Oilbank is implementing work environment measurement and medical examination for employees in an effort to prevent employees’ work-related diseases including permanent monitoring of employees’ health condition based on assessment of their job stress and their risk of developing brain cardiovascular diseases; besides, we are continuously implementing various health management programs such as improvement of work environment and operation of the in-company psychology consultation system. In addition, we are constructing a quick response system in case of an emergency by getting a nurse and an emergency medical technician to reside in a health management room located at the factory while keeping up a close cooperation with regional medical centers.
